So slow it hurts

I bought this receiver as a demo unit from a local electronics store (cheap). It is so incredibly slow that I only use it for the few HDTV channels on DirecTV. My non-HD Sony receiver completely outperforms this model in all other areas. Don't even think about having this as your only DBS receiver, unless you have a lot of patience.

Worst HD receiver

Last week my Panasonic was destroyed by a lightening strike. It was a blessing in disquise!!! For the 8 months I owned it, I cursed daily the slooow response to the remote, not recognizig half the numbers I entered, and horrible HD OTA ability to hold the channel. Going through the program guide was PAINFUL. It was easier to search 10 minutes for the TV Guide that the kids misplaced than to go through the onscreen guide. I assumed all HD receivers were like this due to their relative newness in technology. Was I Wrong. I replaced it with the Hughes Platinum HD and I cannot believe the difference. The Hughes is like my old RCA and Sony non-HD receivers. Quick response, quick program guide and holds my OTA HD channels so much better. Had I known this I would have personally destroyed the Panasonic months ago. DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY PANASONIC HD PRODUCT!!!! They need to get their act together.

WORST...RECEIVER...EVER!!!!

This POS is the absolute worst receiver I've ever had the mispleasure to have in my house.

It is sooo slooooow it's impossible to tune. Seriously. It usually takes a good three or four tries to tune to a channel by number. And tuning an HD channel (such as 48-2)? Damn near impossible. And yes, I have the 8.10 firmware installed. To whoever said this is like "turbo" mode, I shudder to think what it was like before. My friends' old RCA HD receiver blows it away.

I wouldn't recommend this receiver to my worst enemy.

Panasonic TUHDS20 HDTV...Junk...Junk...

I've had this unit for over a year now-I still can't get it to program favorites without it re-booting and losing everything. It is EXCRUCIATINGLY slow in tuning. Our other HDTV receiver-the original RCA 100 unit smokes this "newer" unit. Picture quality is adequate. The remote has already been replaced-TWICE!!! This unit isn't worth the pain-even at a discount-ANY DISCOUNT. Panasonic has lost my trust with this one...CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Looks ok, slow as HELL

HDTV looks great. But for the 4 channels we got on DirecTV, it's just not worth it. Response time on the remote is so slow that the receiver actually times-out before the channel is completely entered and it goes to the wrong channel.

We ended up unplugging it and going back to the Sony B55. No high-def, no digital audio, but at least the thing works. Why is it that every successive receiver I get is slower than the one it replaced???

I gave price no stars because we got it for free and it STILL wasn't worth it.
