Beware the FAN!

I bought the 6000 after moving and finding out that Dish Network wouldn't offer local channels in my area. The HDTV was an added benefit, but the 8VSB local adapter was the best selling point. After spending over $800, I found the obtrusive fan noise from the 8VSB was too much to deal with. It's like having a computer running while you watch TV. I measured 65 dB/1m . That's too loud.
