The remote died after a week. Exchanged at best buy. Started with a medium grade 16 or so boom ant in the attic. All stations from channel 8 and 49 came in perfect. Then tried the philips amplified rabbit ears, and got most of the others with -fair results. Next I built a quad bow tie out of 6 coat hangers works great from inside the house. I didn't put a reflector on the ant because I live close to downtown and the stations are a little spread out. It appears that channel 8 and 49 require the old large ant as I get no signal at all with the bow tie. These stations are broadcasting in vhf-dtv and the larger booms in the attic pick these up very well. I still have problems when it rains on channel 26 and may have to build another ant to point that way. If you live in town don't waste money on a amplified ant. Artificially increasing the gain of a ghosted signal only makes the problem worse. Duel ant's work great if you make sure your coax is the same length going into the combiner not a splitter connected backwards! I'm not sure what we'll due for the beach house or the property out in the country since they are about 120 miles from anywhere. Overall it's been a headache but I get 28 stations now 1/3 are Spanish and a bunch are infomercials but the picture is great. PBS being the "old" kid on the block makes use of some "old" HD equipment for some older shows, but the newer shows are great. ABC seems to stay at 720 most of the time, except the football looks like 1080 to me. FOX appears to be changing from 480 to 720, and maybe a couple of shows at 1080. TV is one of the new Mitsubishi 1080p sets (WD-52628)with the HD turner built it. The only thing I wish I had would be RUSH-HD and FUEL-HD - - - the RUSH TV may only be available form Dish Network now.........but to pay $90 a month for one station is not worth it. I receive a total of 28 digital stations crystal clear, signal strength is 9 or 10. Only one station: 51-1 digital can not be received here in digital. Currently the TV's built in TV-GUIDE system does not work correctly, but several people are supposed to be working on that. In lieu of that, just using the built-in "channel view" sytem for now. This unit is big, 113" boom length, but I will never have to rotate it again. There was a cheaper CM3016 antenna that might have also worked but I chose to go with the slighty stronger CM3018. Highly recommend this in the attic if you can't do an outside installation. I'm not sure of the negative effects if you have the aluminum solar barrier on your roof. I didn't have it.
