Dish Network:
The following channels are currently being offered over the Dish Network's satellite system:
- HBO-East (Channel 9440)
- Showtime-East (Channel 9430)
- PPV (Channel 9428)
- CBS-East (Channel 9453) On both 61.5 and 148.
- CBS-West (Channel 9454)
- Dish Demo (Channel 9443) repeats 24/7.
- Discovery HD Theater (Channel 9420 24/7)
- ESPN HD (Channel 9424)
- HDNet (Channel 9422)
- HDMovies (Channel 9423)
CBS NY, 9453 on both 61.5 and 148.
One visitor to the HDTV Pub notes:
"[An] enhanced module is necessary to to receive [Disconvery HD]. New HD channels
will require Enhanced 8PSK. In coming years all satellite broadcasting may change to 8PSK."
The Dish Network satellites are in orbit at 61.5 degrees (East Coast) and at 148 degrees (West Coast).
DISH Network will offer Discovery HD Theaterâ„¢ for $7.99 per month. A second dish may be required.
If you want a CBS feed you will have to get a waiver signed from CBS if and only if you meet
their requirements. The
requirements
for this are that you either:
- Live in a a market which has a CBS affiliate that is independantly owned and
opperated and you can not receive any HD signal from that / those affiliates
Over The Air.
If you meet this requirement you will have to pay a $4.99 per month charge to
subscribe to a distant or local network package.

You live in a 'White Area' where you can not receive any broadcasts of local
CBS stations. If you meet this requirement you will also have to pay a $4.99 per
month charge to subscribe to a distant or local network package.

To receive the HBO and Showtime in High Definition you will need to subscribe to the
HBO/SHO package. Included in these packages are the corresponding HD channels.
